Here is a guide to the amount of ethylene produced by fruits and vegetables, and their sensitivity to the presence of ethylene gas. This happens at a wide range of storage temperatures, so if you thought putting produce in the fridge would slow the ripening process, well, it isn't necessarily so.

The presence of ethylene producing produce in the fridge is far more important.

Put a Fruit and Veg Saver in each of your fridge drawers, in storage containers and fruit-bowls, to slow this destructive process.

To take one example from the chart: Apples. They are a very high producer of Ethylene, and are highly sensitive to its presence.

No wonder we throw away over 4 million apples EVERY day!
